Transition Team Established
The PTBLA Executive Board established the transition team to
make recommendations to our Board regarding plans for our next season.
The team has many tasks including our search for a new Head Varsity
Coach.
President's Directive
The Transition Team includes a wide cross
section of our organization. Parents of players from each grade and
complementary skill sets will work together to make recommendations to
the board on many important matters.
A new Executive Board will be nominated at
our September General Membership Meeting, followed by a vote at our
October meeting. Key planning cannot wait until our new board is
installed. Contracts with our coaching staff will be signed before
September.
Your voice is important. The Executive Board
remains accountable to you and your suggestions are welcome. Do not
hesitate to contact me with concerns or questions. Specific transition
team questions can be directed to the committee's Chair, Bill Berry.
The Executive Board has assigned Hank
Yeckley to draft a "Code of Conduct" for all involved in the PTBLA to
encompass all activities. This broad document will include rules
regarding e-mails, phone calls, meetings and more. Participants will be
expected to sign this document, acknowledging their understanding of
its contents and their agreement to the rules.
While some of the Transition Team activities
may have to be kept confidential, due to Human Resource confidentiality
issues surrounding our search for coaches, this web page will provide a
window into the activities and progress of the team.

Letter from the Chair
Hey folks. Thanks again to all of you on the transition team for your commitment to the improvement of the PTBLA.
I'm confident that each of you has a notion of the
significance of our mission. First and foremost, you have been charged
with transitioning our organization from this year to next. While we
continue to work in unison with our current board, whose term expires
in October, you share in the role of determining the future of our
boy's teams, coaches, and the success of our organization in general.
Make no mistake about it that we are the organization
that represents our high school program. We are unified. This is
particularly the case in hiring new coaches... for varsity head coach
among others. There is no intent to create a separate sub-committee to
address the coaching situation. We are that committee. We will collect
the resumes, coordinate interviews, and interview coaches along with
any other current board members who wish to participate. In turn, we
will make a recommendation to the board who ultimately must endorse our
actions.
I also want you to know that our current list of
potential candidates is growing and includes individuals that are in
some cases, very surprising. I will share the names of those
individuals at our first meeting.
I ask anyone that knows of potential candidates to
contact me with their names and numbers. After all, it's the players
that are truly what this search is all about. With the best coaches in
place, our players will develop at a higher rate thereby enabling our
teams to take our program to a higher level. And without those quality
coaches, it will not happen. Should you have any questions or concerns,
please feel free to contact me at any time.
Thanks again. I look forward to working with you.
